Unreal Engine 4 released

including open C++ source, new payment model

Epic Games Inc. just announced the release of Unreal Engine 4. The game development framework comes with access to its full C++ code via Github, and a new payment model: Developers now only need to pay $19 per month and if you ship a commercial project, they only seem to want 5% of your gross revenue.

The Unreal Engine is quite a sophisticated piece of software, running on Windows, Linux, Mac OS X, Xbox, PlayStation, Wii, Android, iOS, Flash, and HTML5, with numerous exicting and state of the art features. So this is probably quite a very nice move by Epic Games, making this available that easily to developers.
